City Sherlocks make it to global assn of detectives

Two detectives from Ahmedabad – R P Chauhan and R K Tyagi have been elected to the World Association of Detectives (WAD) and Security Profession at an annual conference held in Aruba, a Dutch Island in the Caribbean, between September 13 and 17. Both Chauhan and Tyagi are retired IAF personnel and run private security agencies in the city. Chauhan is the third Indian to be elected to WAD as the first vice president of the organisation. Tyagi was elected to the WAD board of directors.Chauhan recounted the case of a youth who befriended the daughter of a wealthy businessman from Kutch.“The couple met on a dating site. The youth claimed to be working with a reputed London-based company and even provided appointment letters. He later proposed to the girl. The girl’s father approached us and we found out that the youth was unemployed and was in London on a student visa,” said Chauhan.Tyagi said how he traced a former employee of a pharmaceutical company in Kalol who stole corporate data and joined a rival company. “We tracked him to a competitor’s firm in Saurashtra, recovered the data and gave it back to the original owner. No complaint was filed as both the firms settled the matter,” said Tyagi.WAD is a 1000-member strong organisation that provides a strong network of informants for its members helping them solve international cases.
