CM flags off Tiranga Padyatra from Surat

Chief minister Bhupendra Patel flagged off the Tiranga Padyatra from Surat on Thursday to give a push to the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Patel said the state government is committed to unfurl the Tricolour on one crore homes in the state in response to the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” call given by the Prime Minister.Patel flagged off the Padyatra at Piplod in Surat participating in the walk with citizens on the 2-km route between Lalbhai Contractor Cricket Stadium to Kargil Chowk with the Tricolour along with other known persons.The chief minister, prominent persons and officials made digital payment at the Tricolour distribution booth. Cultural groups, school students and youth wearing traditional dresses presented programmes with nationalistic fervour along the route and welcomed the padyatris.The chief minister expressed hope that citizens will unfurl the Tricolour and participate in the national fervour with enthusiasm. Praising the people of Surat, he said Surtis who are known for their forthrightness and love for food are ahead even in the spirit of patriotism. He called upon the people to contribute wholeheartedly by unfurling the flag at every home.Minister of state for home Harsh Sanghvi said the people of Surat have taken the responsibility of spreading the message of nationalism by hosting the Tiranga Yatra. State BJP chief C R Paatil praised the nationalistic ferour of Surtis. “Thousands of youths, revolutionaries, freedom fighters have made it possible to freely hoist the Tricolour,” he said.
