‘Congress leaders walk with anti-Gujarat elements’

GANDHINAGAR: Campaigning in Ahmedabad on Tuesday evening, BJP national president J P Nadda targeted the Congress, saying that its leader Rahul Gandhi walked with “anti-Gujarat” elements like Medha Patkar during his ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra. He also claimed that like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Goa elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates will lose their deposits on most seats in the upcoming Gujarat assembly election as well. Nadda said, “The Congress has organized Bharat Jodo Yatra, but in reality, it is a ‘Prayashchit’ (atonement) yatra. Rahul Gandhi’s great-grandfather Jawaharlal Nehru and his grandmother Indira Gandhi divided the country by imposed Article 370 in Kashmir and other such actions. PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah repealed Article 370 and accomplished the task of uniting the country in the true sense.’’ “The Congress has always supported anti-Gujarat elements. Medha Patkar halted Narmada dam work for 15 years and now she has joined Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra. This is an example of how the Congress supports anti-Gujarat elements,” he added. He lauded development work done by the BJP in Gujarat. Nadda also targeted AAP, saying, “One more party, which has a record of its candidates losing their deposits, is in the fray in Gujarat. Mark my words, like in other states, candidates of that party will lose their deposits in Gujarat as well.”
