INC’s Gyasuddin mislead voters, alleges BJP

BJP has filed a complaint with the Returning Officer of Dariapur Constituency against the Congress candidate Gyasuddin Shaikh for circulating pamphlets that deliberately mention polling time between 8 am and 6 pm though the EC has mandated closure of voting at 5 pm.The BJP has alleged that 10 lakh such pamphlets have been distributed by the Congress candidate in Dariapur with the purpose to reduce voting. The purpose of spreading the misinformation is that those going to the polling booths after 5 pm have to return without voting, BJP legal cell alleged.Santosh Patwa, co-convener of BJP’s legal cell, said, “The pamphlet has been distributed via door-to-door to nearly 10 lakh households in Dariapur by Congress candidate Gyasuddin Shaikh and Congress workers. The pamphlet doesn’t mention name and address of printing press and the number of pamphlets which is mandatory.”Gyasuddin Shaikh said, “The pamphlets were printed much earlier. We started campaigning one-and-a-half-months ago.” AM
